------------------------------------------------------

Collette Carter (tbtmo records)

COLLETTE CARTER is Rod and Wilynda, a pair, really part of a pantheon of young ambient artists,
hailing from New Jersey, producing their frosty grooves through musical partnerships in the Blind
Organization, a label devoted to new ambient/no-fi. Rod also makes music as Pacifica, Stereo
Symphonic and 1/5 of the Blowball Collective. Their tracks are lush and spirited boy/girl duets,
recently coming into more of a new-skool groove electronique, groove romantique. They have over a
full record, maybe up to two, done and unreleased. If you know Rod's previous stuff you can imagine
how good this show will be. If not check out the track on the tbtmo18 cd-r comp, available at
Spaceboy Records and at the GATE to MOONBASE ALPHA this month. Two mp3 files are available for
streaming from the link below. (Note, your browser must associate .m3u files with your favorite mp3
player. WinAmp and RealPlayer both support m3u playlists.)

The Great Quentini (qdp, shambling mound prod.)

Harking from a metaverse where we humans are the size of quarks, the Great Quentini is the high
shaman of the Gate. Without him the Gate would just be another embedded hulk of exo-archaeological
curiosity. Each "act" of Quentini is actually a translation in form of Pythagoras secret
2049 laws of the higher initiate. If you can reverse engineer them, then we will surely find the
portal to the lost dimension of the lesser space poets... at least, that's what I gather from his
previous performance at last months GTMBA.

Transient ( !! p.r.o.d. )

Prolific young Transient, ( http://www.mp3.com/transient
)
performed most recently at Hologram 2 @La Tazza last month, and at the ph.Art Party 2 the month
before that and is quickly building a fine name for himself. Check out his mp3s now!

Ben Morgan (boo dah nature prod.)

Bergheim 34 may be in Germany but Ben Morgan is here in Philadelphia! Performing twice a month or
more with John Schenk and friends' Slipping into Sublimnity, this international sitar fiend could
not make it to last months show. Belch yer hookas friends, this will be a rare performance. From
what I gather this will be the first time Ben Morgan has solo'd since Pi Lam in 1998(?). Ben may
however also bring friends with... whatever it will be will be a delight.

SINGING BOWL CACAPHONY PARTY

Singing bowls will resonate with a tone when rubbed. Perhaps you have such a bowl. Mine is made of
quartz. Others are made of copper. Bring your bowl and we can play them together. It'll be fun!

FILM

16mm projector supplied by the Consortium Crack Collective (ie. Gina and Mr. Space Ling). Bring any
weird 16mm film and we'll probably project it!

FOOD 'n DRINKS

Comestibles supplied by the Comet Coffeehouse (41st btw Walnut & Chestnut). Hot Cider, Iced
Ginger Tea, and assorted pastries will be FREE. You should feinitely bring your own protein food
though. Bring to share too!

ALL THIS IS FREE?

The Gate to MoonBase Alpha performance series is funded with a budget from the University of
Pennsylvania and made possible by the volunteer contributions of the Andrew Zitcer and the
Foundation Crew. That means due to the low overhead all artists are paid and there is absolutely no
cover! If you wish, donations can be made to the Consortium or the Foundation to support future
events. We will also be accepting donations to the Ralph Nader for President campaign.

WHO ARE WE?

The Philadelphia Ambient Consortium is an autonomous cabal centered in Philadelphia, PA. It was
established in 1998 to
unify the city's dedicated space, ambient, psychedelic instrumental,
improvisational, drone, new classical, and experimental electronic
audiophiles by providing a centralized information resource and the
kernel of a community. We hope that through this activity, the scene
may grow strong and large enough to make our work largely irrelevant.
PAC(MaN) is sponsored by the volunteer contributions of its members.
While it is not technically a nonprofit organization by U.S. law,
PAC(MaN) does not seek any gain for its organizing members. PAC(MaN)
publishes the PAC(MaN) Event Update, administers the
philly_ambient@listbot discussion list, curates the
Gate to Moonbase
Alpha performance series, and operates the simpletone.com website.
