The Gate to Moon Base Alpha
with Octorock, the Vermillions, and Blink Blink
at 36th and Locust Walk, UPenn's Campus at the
former CA Building, free, all ages

Doubtful Record's young Philadelphian electronic musicians Octorock (Eric Sherman), Blink Blink, and the Vermillions (Adam DiAngelo and
Erin Anderson) will be playing their music at the next and probably last Gate Moon Base Alpha. It's all happening the evening of May 5th,
8:00pm at 36th and Locust Walk, on the Universiy of Pennsylvania campus.

Three years ago Adam DiAngelo and Eric Sherman were busy collaborating as Magnet-F. Since then they've developed their own projects,
Octorock and Fingernail. Octorock makes music with a minimal studio of electronics, located in Philadelphia's ermerging music-landscape.
Eric's Octorock sounds are inspired by textures, shapes solidify phrases, scenes become songs. His musical influences have been
chainreaction, dead can dance, and the warp/rephlex/skam releases. He has made compilation appearances on kracfive (usa), fuzzybox/darla
(usa), alien robot media (usa), and bovine life (uk). Inzec Records (ch) has just released his newest 7-song EP called "k'ta" to be
distributed throughout Europe and North America.

Adam DiAngelo released "so, backwards" in 1998 on Fuzzybox/Darla records and followed that up by "three suites" last year. The Vermillions
are a collaboration between Adam and Erin Anderson of Flowchart. Adam sings and composes the music, Erin sings. The music is electronic.
Elegant melodies are set over minimal rhythms. Adam writes:

It did begin as all things following another. What kind of man? It was she who made him. When he met her. He didn't get what she was saying
all thetime, but he knew if he listened, it would become clear soon enough. And it did. So they slow-walked together. Music was made. Adam
had many beautiful machines. Erin sang. Adam's machines sang with her. Adam sang. And all sang together. Together they layered together it,
layered it. Recorded it. When their songs were heard, international acclaim soon followed. They willfollow this with that which is followed
by another, and all eyes are upon them.

Blink Blink is simply Cathy Cheung and her Toshiba laptop. Futurepop. Her music is like liquid.
